Home remodeling contractors, Abbey Design Center, opened their doors in 1989 and had one business philosophy in mind: “Give your customer quality products at a fair price and take care of them like a friend.” Since their original business model, the employees, designers, artisans, and home remodeling contractors have treated homeowners in the Northern Virginia area with kindness and treated each home with respect as if it were their own. Their expertise was visible from the very start, and, more than 30,000 projects later, the remodeling company has become a successful and respected business in the Loudoun County community.
Stellar service and craftsmanship accounts for the success Abbey Design Center has seen in one of the richest counties in the nation. Their attention to customer service and the support of their local community is a big reason they’re here today celebrating their 30th year of business. “We are so very thankful for the loyalty from our customers. The Loudoun and Fairfax County communities have supported us through it all! This year is a year of celebration for all of us. As a way to give thanks, we have several giveaways scheduled throughout the year. We want people to find comfort in the home they love as much as we have found operating our business in this community. We love what we do and look forward to many continued years of business,” says Shiva Etessam, CEO of Abbey Design Center.
Over 30 years of service, Abbey Design Center has grown from the aspirations of a husband and wife to a highly successful woman-owned company. In 1995, Shiva Etessam and her husband joined the Abbey franchise. Three years later in 1998, they saw a bigger need in Northern Virginia. Loudoun County’s rapid expansion needed businesses for flooring and full-home remodeling. Abbey expanded to fill the community’s needs and incorporated home renovations. “Remodeled homes sell faster and for a much higher value,” states Fariba Hedges, Shiva’s sister and President of Abbey Operations. “We want to help homeowners in Northern Virginia increase the value of their homes. It is exciting to be a part of this process. We actually help our customers create more value in what, for many, is their biggest lifetime investment.”
Recognized as a leader in home renovations in Loudoun County and boasting a team of experienced design experts and two showrooms in Sterling and Leesburg, Virginia, Abbey’s years of dedication to providing quality products and services has been consistently recognized by their customers and peers in the industry. A few of their most recent honors included the 2017 Best Contractors of the Year Award in the DC metro area, the 2018 Houzz Service Award, and multiple honors from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), including the 2017 CotY Grand Award in Basement Remodeling, as well as the Merit Award in Bath Remodeling.
Today, Abbey Design Center continues to exceed customer expectations by going above and beyond to ensure that each homeowner is satisfied with their finished product. To show their appreciation for the community and their customers, Abbey Design Center will be giving away remodeling services and products throughout the year. The whole company is excited to give back to the community who’s supported them.
